Stephen utilizes an eclectic, person-centred, and strengths-based approach, in order to help clients to utilize their strengths and find motivation to accomplish their goals and thrive. He has experience assisting individuals struggling with concerns related to ADHD, anxiety, depression, identity, low self-esteem, mental toughness, motivation, and suicidality. He tailors his approach to each individual that he works with and has worked with a wide range of clients, including children and young adults with anxiety, depression, self-injury, and other areas of concern. Stephen is highly skilled at helping individuals develop their resiliency and competencies related to emotional regulation and executive functioning. Stephen has a Master's degree from the Counselling Psychology program at the University of Calgary and also holds a BA in Psychology from Mount Royal University. He has over 9 years experience helping children, young adults, and families to improve their functioning and meet their needs and goals, including more than 2 years experience with formal counselling and assessment as a registered provisional psychologist. This includes working in residential programs, counselling in partnership with the Ministry of Children’s Services, and coordinating an alternative school program for high-risk youth.
